WorkDocs client on MAC shows 500gb capacity for users with UNLIMITED quota.

I am using WorkDocs to store my files in the cloud. I need to upload a large chunk of files and it failed today. I looked at the drive info on my Mac, and it says the size is 500gb. The user is set up as an admin user with UNLIMITED storage. Why is this happening and how can I resolve it? I have seen a post saying that the workdocs size is set to the same size as the OS drive where you have the client installed. Why in the world would this be set this way? I am using WorkDocs to store data I do not want taking up space on my laptop, so it surely could be more than the local hard drive capacity. Sounds like this is a known issue, when will it be resolved or do I need to research other solutions for my cloud storage?
