Access problems with BenchPrep after upgrading Skill Builder can be frustrating, but there are a few specific things you can do to fix it quickly.
Check for account mix‑ups The most common cause is having more than one Skill Builder account. Since you mentioned you have an older free account, the system may be logging you into the wrong one. Make sure you are:
- Logged in with the same email you used to buy the paid subscription
- Not accidentally switching to the older free account
Try opening Skill Builder in a private or incognito window to avoid cached logins.
Confirm your subscription is active
Go to Skill Builder → Your Account → Subscriptions
Make sure your paid plan shows as active. If it doesn’t, the BenchPrep link won’t work.

BenchPrep redirect loop If clicking a practice exam sends you back to Skill Builder, it usually means your subscription entitlement didn’t sync correctly. This is something only AWS Training Support can fix on their side.
Contact AWS Training & Certification Support Open a support case directly from Skill Builder:
Skill Builder → Help → Contact Support
Tell them:
- You upgraded to a paid plan
- BenchPrep redirects you back to Skill Builder
- Your older free account still works, but your paid account does not
- You need the entitlement refreshed on the paid account
They can manually correct the account link, which normally resolves the issue quickly.
