Paid $15 for Route 53 domain registration yet no domain visible in console even after account upgrade

0

I'm experiencing a serious issue with Route 53 domain registration that's blocking my business operations.

SITUATION:

  • Domain: tristanautomegamakmur.com
  • Paid $15 for domain registration through Route 53
  • Account upgraded from free tier to paid as requested
  • Domain confirmed registered via WHOIS with Amazon Registrar, Inc.

PROBLEM:

  • Domain NOT visible in Route 53 "Registered domains" console
  • Console shows "No registered domains" despite successful registration
  • Cannot access domain management features I paid for
  • Cannot change nameservers to migrate to Cloudflare

VERIFIED: ✅ Correct AWS account (email matches registration) ✅ Billing shows $15 charge processed ✅ WHOIS confirms Amazon Registrar ownership ✅ DNSSEC disabled (not signing) ❌ Zero domains showing in console

This appears to be an AWS system issue where the console is not displaying a successfully registered and paid domain. I've created support cases but need urgent resolution as this is preventing business operations.

Has anyone experienced similar issues with Route 53 domain registration not appearing in the console after payment? Any suggestions for escalation?

Based on your description, it sounds like you're experiencing a disconnect between your domain registration and what's showing in your Route 53 console. This is a frustrating situation, especially when you've confirmed payment and WHOIS registration.

There are a few potential causes for this issue:

  1. Email verification pending: Sometimes domain registrations require email verification before they fully appear in your console. Check your email (including spam/junk folders) for any verification messages from AWS.

  2. Nameserver mismatch: If your domain is registered but not showing up, there might be an issue with the nameservers. Since WHOIS confirms Amazon Registrar ownership, the registration itself was successful, but the console integration may have issues.

  3. Console synchronization delay: There can sometimes be delays between when a domain is registered and when it appears in the console, though this is typically resolved within 24-48 hours.

  4. Account region mismatch: Make sure you're checking the Route 53 console in the correct AWS region where you registered the domain.

For immediate resolution, I recommend:

  1. Contact AWS Support directly through the Account and Billing section. Domain registration issues are covered even on basic support plans at no additional charge.

  2. Provide them with your WHOIS information and payment confirmation to expedite the process.

  3. Ask them to manually verify the domain's status in their system and ensure it's properly linked to your AWS account.

  4. Request that they help you update nameservers if you need to migrate to Cloudflare in the interim.

This appears to be a technical issue with the console display rather than a problem with the actual domain registration, since WHOIS confirms Amazon Registrar ownership.
