TGW service limits

0

I understand that TGWs per account are 5 and this limit can be increased. Also understand that a TGW can have 20 route tables and this limit can be increased. Reference: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/vpc/latest/tgw/transit-gateway-quotas.html

Without putting a request for the increase, I need to know what is the maximum/hard limit for both of the values?

Please advise.

Hard limits are not published and every limit increase request is subject to review. AWS Support might approve, deny, or partially approve your requests as mentioned here

That being said, with 1 TGW in a region you can do upto 5000 attachments (VPC/VPN/DXGW/Connect) you really shouldn't need more than 1 TGW in a region. See below 2 statements from Transit gateway design best practices

  • You do not need additional transit gateways for high availability, because transit gateways are highly available by design.

  • For redundancy, use a single Transit Gateway in each Region for disaster recovery.
