Can you use an Amazon ECR private repository with LightSail?

It says on this page that Container image sources can come from a "Public Registry" or "Images pushed from your local machine" what is not clear is if LightSail can use images stored in a private ECR repository? If not why not?

As of today, you can use ECR private repositories with Lightsail: https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/whats-new/2022/05/amazon-lightsail-containers-deploying-images-amazon-ecr-private-repositories/

As per my understanding your container images needs to be pushed directly to Lightsail where they will be kept private. Please refer the below link for more details.
