Configuring default region on CodeCatalyst Dev Environment

0

Hello, How can set/unset the default region in a CodeCatalyst Dev Environment? When I go to login to AWS SSO using CLI, my profile has the default region set to us-east-1, but that seems to be ignored. I see that AWS_REGION environment variable is set by default (to us-west-2). But even when I "unset AWS_REGION", it still seems to default to us-west-2.

Hi there,

I presume when you run the following:

aws configure get region --profile [your-profile-name]

you get "us-east-1. If not or just to confirm, run the following once more from the bash/command shell (i.e., not set them by editing the configuration file):

aws configure set region us-east-1

Sometimes, setting the variable from the Dev Environment shell also works:

export AWS_DEFAULT_REGION=us-east-1

If these steps don't fix it, maybe try deleting the Dev environment, confirming the default region, and recreating it.

I am guessing you don't want to force it every time as a workaround could be to set that launch configuration as part of every invocation.

Hope these suggestions help!
