Is there a reason why port forwarding isn't working?

I just got a new install for a linux ubuntu free tier vm on EC2 and cant connect or open ports.
you may test the ports yourselfs
not sure what is going on.

If you are trying to ssh into the machine, you need to allow the ssh port 22 in the Security Group. From the attached diagram I see you have opened only the HTTP and SSH ports on the machine. Do you have a webserver such as Apache running on the machine that is listening on port 80 or 443?
