Exam are currently under review by the AWS Certification Security team?

0

I sat for my DVA exam on the 23rd at a testing center. After not receiving any updates on the 5th day I sent a support case in asking for an update. I received word that my exam results were under review by the security team. I have not received a pass/fail etc since then. What can I do/what can I expect in this situation? I have reached out to the exam support folks. I prepared using Stephane Maarek courses over the last 3 months and did took the test 100% honestly. Am I able to have a more in-depth conversation with AWS to answer any questions or explain anything they might have seen?

Thank you,

Steve.

This situation is not uncommon. AWS conducts rigorous data forensics analysis after exam delivery to identify unusual patterns in test performance that might indicate irregular testing behavior. When significant deviations from normal testing patterns are detected, AWS may place exam results under review, which can delay the standard 5-business-day timeline for receiving results.

Since you've already contacted exam support, you're taking the right steps. The security team may take up to 3 weeks to complete their review process and determine if your results will be passed, failed, or invalidated. Unfortunately, during this review period, there isn't much more you can do except wait for the security team to complete their investigation.

It's important to understand that being under review doesn't necessarily mean you've done anything wrong. AWS's forensic analysis can flag results for various reasons, and the review is part of their process to maintain certification integrity.

If your results are eventually invalidated, you would have an opportunity to appeal the decision by following the process described in the AWS Certification Data Forensics Policy. For now, continue to engage with certification support as they are your primary point of contact for updates on your specific case.

Rest assured that AWS only communicates about invalidated exams and appeal processes with the candidates themselves, so your privacy is protected during this review.

  • Ok thank you "It's important to understand that being under review doesn't necessarily mean you've done anything wrong", this might great to include in the emails to users in the same scenario. The wording and feel of the support emails made it feel like I've done something wrong.
