Amazon ECR public repositories charges

0

If I upload my 100MB Docker images to a public repository, are there any charges for storing and allowing public access to these images? Will I be charged if users frequently download these public images? Specifically, what are the free tier limits for data transfer, and what charges apply if these limits are exceeded?

What I know: https://aws.amazon.com/ecr/pricing/?nc1=h_ls

  • Both new and existing customers get 50 GB per month of always-free storage for their public repositories.
  • Data transferred from public repositories: Without using an AWS Account 500 GB / month $0.00 per GB When using an AWS Account 5 TB / month $0.00 per GB
  • Data transferred out from public repositories is limited by source IP when an AWS account is not used.

My question is, if my public images are downloaded more than 500GB per month, will my account be charged? Or will the IP address be unable to download images once it exceeds 500GB per month?

When using the pricing calculator, there is no option for public or private repositories; it only allows you to calculate for private repositories.

If you use more than 500 GB without authentication, you cannot download. The following is one reason. Also, the fact that no fee is set for the transfer of more than 500 GB of data when the data is transferred anonymously suggests that this is the case.

Data transferred out from public repositories is limited by source IP when an AWS account is not used. https://aws.amazon.com/ecr/pricing/?nc1=h_ls
