aws athena is down in region ap-northeast-2.

even a simple query takes forever. It does not even show the data scan amount.
Could you please check if athena is down for the moment?

As of this moment, there has not been any reported downtime of the Athena service in the ap-northeast-2 region within the past 24 hours.
If you are still facing performance issues with the Athena service, I would recommend you to please create a Support case with the AWS Athena Support team for assistance, as additional information will be required to further troubleshoot this behavior.
