Why am I being charged for WAF service when there are no Web ACLs present in the Console?

I am being charged for AWS WAF. I want to delete the WAF service and stop the charges. In the Billing Console, I see that the charges are incurring from WAF in "Any" region. However, I do not see any WebACLs in my console even after checking in the "Global" region.

If you are unable to see any WebACL in your WAF console even after choosing all possible regions including "Global", You might have missed to select the appropriate region inside the Web ACLs section.

If you've utilized the WAF service with CloudFront, please be aware that Web ACLs can be found in the "Global (CloudFront)" region. It's important to note that this region is distinct from the region of the Management console and is necessary to select the same region in both the section.

Locating WebACL in the WAF Console:

  1. Sign in to the AWS Management Console
  2. Open the AWS WAF console: https://console.aws.amazon.com/wafv2/
  3. In the navigation pane, choose Web ACLs.
  4. Make sure to choose the appropriate region in both the sections [Top Right corner of the screen and the one next to the Web ACL (near the create web ACL button)].

Note: As per your Billing Console, If you are incurring charges for WAF service under "Any" region, make sure to choose "Global(CloudFront)" region in both the sections of your console[As shown in the above screenshot].

same for me but I am being charged without creating any web acl even in global region
