RI sharing in redshift

0

I have consolidated billing at the company and I intend to remove the existing Redshift nodes in one account and upload them to another. Can I share the reservation purchased on the previous account and use it on the other one where I will upload the nodes?

Note: both are daughter accounts

You can use the console to activate Reserved Instance sharing discounts for an account.

Hi There

Yes, the pricing benefits of Reserved Nodes are shared when the purchasing account is part of a set of accounts billed under one consolidated billing payer account. As long as the node type and region are the same, the RI will apply.

See https://docs.aws.amazon.com/redshift/latest/mgmt/purchase-reserved-node-instance.html
