See below statement from the documentation, BGP is mandatory for using DX:
q1.) Is BGP mandatory when setting up AWS DX connections? I had only a few routes and wanted to check if i can setup just Static routes and not use BGP.
• Your device must support Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and BGP MD5 authentication.

q2.) When we use Hosted connections setup using AWS DX partner, will the partner costs will be different from that of AWS DX costs or included in AWS DX costs?
Yes, that is correct. Direct Connect Delivery Partner's cost would be separate

Thanks for the response. Q1 answer is accurate. However, for Q2, the answer seems to be varied - as i could see in some partner documentation that 'AWS Direct Connect port charges are billed by Amazon'. So i assume it will need further study into the Partner documentation to understand in what cases, and what type of connections, there will be extra charges.
