Datasync EFS to S3 not working

0

Hi AWS team,

I am trying to following https://aws.amazon.com/premiumsupport/knowledge-center/datasync-transfer-efs-s3/ to transfer data from EFS to S3 but currently I am unable to select S3 as destination location. The only options available are EFS & SMB.
Not sure why this is happening. I have tried to create locations separately but even then S3 location is not present for destination.
Datasync agent is created as EC2 & activated. I have tried with & without endpoints but still unable to find S3 when selecting destination location.
Attached are few screenshots.

Vikas

Thanks for reaching out. For EFS to S3 transfers, the source location needs to be defined as NFS. Could you please double check whether you defined the source as NFS (vs EFS)?

  • This advice is out of date. There is currently no problem selecting an EFS drive as a source location. Now, if your policy requires encryption in transit, that is another issue...

Thanks Olga,

Yes that was the mistake, I selected EFS instead of NFS.
It works with NFS.
