Some mails rejected when using Workmail

Hello,

Since a few days, some mails are being rejected :
Action : failed
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 5.2.0 Mail rejete. Mail rejected. ofr_506 [506]
Status: 5.2.0

Or
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 554 5.7.1 Command rejected
Status: 5.7.1

Or
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 4.4.7 Message expired: unable to deliver in 840 minutes.<421 4.4.2 Connection timed out>
Status: 4.4.7

This happens on multiple organizations we manage.

I can't figure out why. This never happened before.

Hi Alexandre,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing with rejected emails. Can you tell me where you're experiencing this? Is in inbound mail or outbound mail.

If its inbound email you can check your DMARC settings as WorkMail recurrently started to enforce this. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/workmail/latest/adminguide/inbound-dmarc.html

Hi Alexandre,

In that case it seems that the problem might be on the receiving end. The error codes should explain why WorkMail was unable to deliver the email.

Whats is strange is that there is suddenly many errors.

There's not much details.
For example :

Technical report:

Reporting-MTA: dsn; a6-235.smtp-out.eu-west-1.amazonses.com

Action: failed
Final-Recipient: rfc822; jm-nat.nagel@wanadoo.fr
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 5.2.0 Mail rejete. Mail rejected. ofr_506 [506]
Status: 5.2.0

One more customer, on another Organization, reports me a outbound delivery issue.
There is clearly an issue.

Hi Alexandre,

I'm sorry to inform you but in these cases WorkMail cannot fix the problem. Its the receiving end not accepting the message.

I can ask the service team to check if the sending server is blacklisted but this is closely monitored so that should never happen. If you can PM me the sending users email address and destination I will ask the service team to take a look.

I've got the same problem. During one week 3 different email addresses (including gmail.com) gave me:

Action: failed Final-Recipient: rfc822; XXXXXXXX@gmail.com Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 4.4.7 Message expired: unable to deliver in 10 minutes.<220 2.0.0 Ready to start TLS> Status: 4.4.7

I sent these emails 2-3 times, but every time I received the same error. Now I don't know what I can do more, only change AWS Workmail to another service.
