The time it takes to transfer a domain from one registrar to another can vary depending on several factors, including the domain registrar you are transferring from and to, the domain's current status, and whether there are any issues or delays during the transfer process. Typically, domain transfers can take anywhere from a few hours to several days.

In your case, transferring a domain from Squarespace to AWS, it's not uncommon for the process to take a few days. The** "Domain transfer in progress"** status indicates that the transfer is still ongoing. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. Domain Status: The status "Domain transfer in progress" means that the transfer is still underway. It's possible that the transfer is proceeding as expected and will complete soon.

  2. Authorization: Ensure that you have completed all the necessary steps to authorize the domain transfer. This often involves unlocking the domain at the current registrar (Squarespace) and obtaining an authorization code (EPP code) for the transfer.

  3. Communication: Check your email for any communication from both Squarespace and AWS regarding the transfer. They may require additional information or verification.

  4. Contact Support: If it has been more than a few days and the transfer is still not completed, it's a good idea to reach out to the support teams at both Squarespace and AWS. They can provide you with more specific information about the status of the transfer and address any issues that may be causing delays.

Keep in mind that domain transfers are subject to policies and procedures set by both the losing registrar (Squarespace) and the gaining registrar (AWS). Delays can occur if there are any discrepancies in the information provided or if there are technical issues during the process.

It's essential to be patient and maintain open communication with both registrars to ensure a smooth domain transfer.

Please give me a thumbs up if this helps

  • Thanks for the answer, I've completed all the steps provided by both parties from unlocking the domain to sharing the authorization code from the old registry to the new one, I'll wait for a week then I'll contact the support centers in both parties. Thank again
