Additional Server AD with AWS Directory Service

Question

Hi,

I have my AD on premises and I would like to know if it is possible to create an additional AD server using AWS Directory Service.

I set up an AD on AWS but at the time of creation I didn't find an option to create an additional AD server, I only saw the option to create a new domain.

If you would like to have a secondary site, with its own AD fully functional AD Controller in AWS then you would need to install connectivity to a VPC in AWS (using a site-to-site VPN for instance) an launch an EC2 instance with a Microsoft Windows Server Operating System. Then once you have it running - you can promote it to an Active Directory Domain Controller - and domain join it to your existing Active Directory Domain in your on-premise location.
