Route53: Wasn't able to register domain name

0

We can't finish registering your domain. Contact AWS Support at Support for further information.

However, after waiting for over 3 days issue has still not been resolved and case has not been assigned. Have attempted to register domain again multiple times with same result. AWS account has been active for quite some time so not a new account issue.

I understand your frustration with the domain registration issue in Route 53 and the delay in getting a response from AWS Support. This situation is not uncommon, but it can be concerning when it persists for several days.

The message "We can't finish registering your domain" can occur for various reasons, including issues with the domain name itself, problems with the registration information provided, or technical difficulties on AWS's end. The fact that you've tried multiple times with the same result suggests it might be a more complex issue.

While AWS doesn't provide a specific timeframe for responding to these types of support tickets, domain registration issues are generally handled under the Account and Billing support category, which is available to all AWS customers regardless of their support plan level.

Given that it's been over three days without a response, here are some steps you can take:

  1. Double-check that you've provided all necessary information in your support case. Ensure that the AWS account you used to open the support case is the same one you used for the domain registration attempt.

  2. If you haven't already, try to provide additional details in your existing case. Include information about your repeated attempts to register the domain and any specific error messages you've received.

  3. You could try opening a new support case with all the relevant details, including your previous case number. Sometimes, this can help bring attention to your issue.

  4. While waiting for a response, carefully review all the information you're entering during the registration process to ensure accuracy. Check if there are any restrictions on the specific domain you're trying to register (e.g., some TLDs have special requirements or limitations).

  5. If possible, you might want to try registering a different domain name to see if the problem is specific to the domain you initially chose.

Remember, AWS Support is the most authoritative source for resolving these types of issues, as they have direct access to your account information and can provide specific guidance based on your situation. While the wait is frustrating, they should eventually address your case. If the delay continues for an unreasonable amount of time, consider escalating the issue through available AWS support channels.
