MLNX_OFED with AmazonLinux

0

Hello. Does anyone know how to install MLNX_OFED on an instance running Amazon Linux? The Mellanox download website does not have a specific package so I tried with RHEL7.6 but it didn't work. Thanks.

Hi. Thanks. The instance is updated and running Amazon Linux 2. The error message is simply:
"Current operation system is not supported!" and appears just a few seconds after starting the installation with 'mlnxofedinstall.'

Since the Mellanox products are centered around network and Infiniband drivers, it is highly likely that they are built against very specific kernel versions. RHEL and Amazon Linux do not use the same kernels, so it is not surprising that the drivers would not install.

You might contact Mellanox support, to find out their roadmap for providing support/packages for Amazon Linux.
