Glacier storage class

0

Hi,

I am new to AWS, I thought of using the Glacier for the Archiving of the Data. Decided to use the Standard( 3–5 hours) storage class.

  1. As part of the Plan, I have jumped into the Glacier management Console, Created a vault. Just checked the storage Class, and I Did not find it anywhere can anyone help me with it?
  2. Assuming it is Single Storage Class; how I can check the Data Retrieval information?

FYI: I have used FastGlacier client for uploading the Files.

Please let me know, what is the best practice to use the Glacier as an Archive service, and Clarify the way I am going is making sense?

Glacier is used for archiving big data sets and it has multiple classes like S3 Glacier Instant Retrieval , S3 Glacier Flexible Retrieval ,S3 Glacier Deep Archive and workloads. S3 Intelligent-Tiering. Use case of each of them depends on how faster you want to access the data.

Please find the detailed article containing the pricing and latency associated with each of the classes. https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/storage/best-practices-for-archiving-large-datasets-with-aws/

  • @Ramakrishnan Lakshmanan Thank you for your Time.

I understood the purpose, I was planned archive and looking to retrieve as Standard( 3–5 hours) class.

As I have already created the vault, Now how can I check on which class my vault have, I did not said anything explicitly while creating and I don't observed that option itself while creating.

May be I am wrong, kindly make me understand and let me know how can I check it.
