Hello everyone, I am having difficulty in locating pii information reported in Macie json file ... The only indicated locator I have is the following: "detailedResultsLocation": "s3://[export-config-not-set]/AWSLogs/account-id/Macie/us-east-1/filename.jsonl.gz How do I access this file and its contents ? Thanks in advance.

Hi you can find the PII information in the Findings Section on Amazon Macie console.

References:

Findings : https://docs.aws.amazon.com/macie/latest/user/findings.html

Review findings : https://docs.aws.amazon.com/macie/latest/user/findings-view.html

To locate sensitive data through JSON format : https://docs.aws.amazon.com/macie/latest/user/findings-locate-sd.html#findings-locate-sd-schema

  • Thanks for the information.. I have already generated a Json file and exported it ... But it does not tell me where the location of pii data is ... Only have the "detailedResultsLocation" entry as mentioned above ... and I do not know how to access the .gz file ..

  • The file will be placed in the s3 bucket in your account. You can download this .gz file from there and unzip it on your local machine. Are you having any access issues to that object?

Or are you not seeing this bucket at all in your account?
