MediaConvert Activation

-2

Dear Support Team, I am experiencing an issue when trying to use AWS MediaConvert. I receive the following error: "The AWS Access Key Id needs a subscription for the service" This indicates that my account is not enabled or subscribed to MediaConvert. I have already completed all prerequisites: IAM role is properly configured S3 buckets are set up (no encryption is used) Permissions are correctly assigned

It appears that the issue is related to account-level restrictions. I have already opened support cases, but the responses I have received so far are generic, advising me to check the region, IAM role, and other standard configurations. My account is verified, but it is new (created on March 3rd). I would greatly appreciate it if you could urgently review my account and confirm:

Whether MediaConvert is enabled for my account

If there are any restrictions or pending verification steps

What exact action is required to activate the service

This delay is significantly impacting my ability to proceed with my work. I would appreciate a prompt resolution.

Thank you very much for your attention and support.

I understand your frustration with the MediaConvert access issue. Based on the error message you're receiving, it appears your account may need to be provisioned for MediaConvert access.

If you're using AWS Managed Services (AMS), you'll need to request access by submitting a specific change type request to provision the necessary IAM roles for MediaConvert. This process provisions two roles: one for authoring MediaConvert jobs and another default role that MediaConvert uses to read from source S3 buckets, write to destination buckets, and invoke API gateways for digital rights management if needed.

However, if you're using a standard AWS account (not AMS), the "AWS Access Key Id needs a subscription for the service" error typically indicates one of the following:

  1. Regional availability: MediaConvert may not be available in the region you're attempting to use it in. Ensure you're working in a region where MediaConvert is supported.

  2. Account activation: Some AWS services require explicit activation or acceptance of service terms before first use, even with proper IAM permissions.

  3. Service quotas or restrictions: New accounts sometimes have temporary restrictions on certain services.

Since you've already verified your IAM roles, S3 buckets, and permissions are correct, and support has been unable to resolve the issue through standard troubleshooting, I recommend specifically asking AWS Support to verify whether MediaConvert service activation is complete for your account and region, and whether there are any account-level service restrictions that need to be lifted for your new account.

Since March 3rd, I have been trying to use the MediaConvert service, and I am unable to work without it, which is causing significant delays.
