Based on the information provided, there are a few reasons why your billing might still be increasing even after you've finished your environment:

  1. Free Tier Expiration: The AWS Free Tier typically lasts for 12 months from the date you first activated your AWS account. If you created your account in March 2025, your Free Tier benefits should still be active. However, it's important to note that even during the Free Tier period, there are usage limits for each service. If you exceed these limits, you may incur charges.

  2. Active Resources: Even if you've finished your environment, some resources may still be active and generating costs. For example, stopped (but not terminated) EC2 instances may still incur charges for associated EBS volumes or Elastic IP addresses. You mentioned that Amplify is still on, which could be contributing to ongoing charges.

  3. Storage Costs: Many AWS services incur storage costs, such as Amazon S3 buckets or RDS instances. These can continue to generate charges even if you're not actively using them.

  4. Amplify Charges: Since you mentioned Amplify is still on, it's important to note that Amplify can use various AWS services behind the scenes, which may contribute to your bill. To stop Amplify charges, you typically need to delete the Amplify app through the Amplify console, not just take it offline.

To address these issues:

  1. Check your AWS Billing console to see exactly what you're being charged for. Look for details on services, regions, and specific resources incurring costs.

  2. Ensure that all resources you're not using are properly terminated, not just stopped.

  3. For Amplify, go to the Amplify console and delete the app if you no longer need it.

  4. Monitor your usage carefully and set up billing alerts to avoid unexpected charges in the future.

If you believe the charges are unexpected or incorrect, don't hesitate to contact AWS Support for clarification and assistance.
