Connect to Amazon Connect over Public Internet

0

We have a lot of clients who want to terminate calls into Amazon Connect over the public internet by just sending to a public endpoint, similar to how Genesys can take calls in via a hostname.

This is done as opposed to the traditional PSTN which can be expensive, is this a possibility now or in the future?

I created a test account to look but couldn't see any options and I also couldn't see anything in the help docs.

Perhaps in the future we would do this via VPN and potentially encrypted, but not required for both of those options for now.

Hello,

This is not a supported method for call ingress today. Only PSTN ingress is supported by Amazon Connect.

I have to imagine that AWS is working on a SIP termination mechanism probably via Chime, however this could be months or years away. One other option is for you to create your own ingress point where your customer send the calls and you then turn them over to PSTN and send them to Connect. Not a great solution, but might be a short term option.
