SES and Bounce Reputation



I am a volunteer for our Democratic organization and have set up email distribution for us. We do not send a lot of emails, however for the June Primary we are increasing. Because the Historic Bounce Rate is based on representative volume, I think our increase is influencing the numbers. We are still healthy but our Historic Bounce Rate crept up. I have two questions.

  1. What is the period of time that determines that representative volume period?
  2. Has AWS SES considered adding a paid validation service? I would find value in having emails run through a validation before sending.
