Hi,
We've added your request for .cn and .com.cn TLDs to our backlog. We can't comment on a release date at this point.
Scott
Thanks Scott! Should I mark the question as answered now? Or is it more customary to wait until the request has been completed (i.e., the TLDs have been added) to do so? I'm assuming I should leave it open so that others can "me too" it if they want to, but I wanted to check to make sure.
I think the move to get the .cn and .com.cn domains out of the Chinese registrars will soon affect their ICP validity. I was informed that beginning January 2018, MIIT will require all new domains be registered in a Chinese registrar to be able to get an ICP. This might expand also to the existing domain that has an ICP. What do you think?
Same here.
I have a .cn domain I want to transfer to Route53 but am unable to do so. With more and more websites/companies wanting to get their foot into China, it is high time for AWS to flag .cn and .com.cn as TLD and get going...
As for the other using suggesting that only chinese nationals can register .cn domains, that is not true. You are required to submit supporting documents that proof you are a company (business license) or individual (passport), so that you can be identified as the owner of the domain. With GoDaddy, that data is stored in servers in Australia and not made immediately available to the chinese government.
Hope that helps
Please start supporting these extensions, there are many businesses that need this functionality
Hello Team,
Any update on this whether AWS has started to support .cn extension for domain registration/transfer?
