CloudShell Unable to create environment

0

us-east-1 region signed in as root to ensure permissions are not the issue. Tried using both Chrome and Edge

It starts creating then errors out, I have tried deleting the environment and running it again.

Learning AWS and I have had my account for more than a year. I have troubleshooted the issue via permissions etc and I am unable to determine why CloudShell no longer works. It has been several days, and it did work at one point.

"Unable to create the environment. Your account verification is in progress. This may take up to two days for new accounts....... contact aws support."

Based on the error message you're seeing, this is a common issue with AWS CloudShell that can occur even for accounts that aren't newly created, despite what the message suggests about account verification.

Since you've already tried multiple browsers (Chrome and Edge) and you're signed in as root (eliminating permission issues), and you've attempted to delete the environment and recreate it, you've covered most of the basic troubleshooting steps.

Here are a few additional things you can try:

  1. Try accessing CloudShell from a different AWS region (you mentioned you're in us-east-1)
  2. Try using an incognito/private browsing session
  3. Refresh your AWS Management Console completely

If these steps don't resolve the issue, the most effective solution would be to contact AWS Support directly. You can open a support case under the "Account and billing" category. This type of support is available free of charge, even for users on the basic support plan. AWS Support has access to account-specific information that can help resolve this particular issue.

When contacting support, be sure to mention that:
