Amazon OpenSearch Service Stuck at Modifying

0

I had an Amazon OpenSearch Service with 3 t3.small.search data nodes of 10 GB each. The nodes went missing yesterday. When I checked in the notifications, the nodes were full for sometime and had high CPU usage above 85%. So I decided to upgrade and try to see if I can recover the data later. Upgrade to 2 m5.large.search data nodes with 50GB storage was requested yesterday and now it is still stuck at Modefying -> Applying changes. I have no way of checking the error or troubleshoot why it has failed. How do I get this up again and try to recover from now missing data nodes

Try this guide. It's about "stuck in the Processing state", but anyway it's the best way to start troubleshooting

If it does not help, you should create a Technical Support case (if data is important and you can not just recreate the cluster) In case you have not yet a Support subscription, consider to upgrade to Developer Support or Business support depending on the urgency of your case.
