How to increase vCPU count on lightsail instance

0

I'm considering if we should increase the vCPU count on our lightsail instance to 2 but want to know how to do this and what it will cost before proceeding. We are running 3cx on it but the latest Debian needs an extra vCPU by default.

Is it possible to simply increase the vCPU?

How can I determine the cost before proceeding?

Yes you can uplift your instance, the steps to do this are described here https://repost.aws/knowledge-center/change-lightsail-plan

It's not possible to just increase the CPU and leave the memory unchanged, if you choose a target instance type that has more CPU you'll find that it has more memory too.

Also be aware that once you've increased the instance size, you can't decrease it back down again.

Be aware that higher-specced instances cost more, full pricing details are here https://aws.amazon.com/lightsail/pricing/

This is strange. Our instance is listed as 1 GB RAM, 1 vCPU, 40 GB SSD and yet when I look at that link you've given this isn't listed. All have 2 x vCPU's that I can see.

This plan looks correct and I think the price is the same with the big increase for having a public IP4 addresses from this month:

1 GB Memory 2 vCPUs*** 40 GB SSD Disk 2 TB Transfer*

Should I be able to change to that plan?
