forgot stop the instance

I recently created an account and did not know the instance would be charging later on after 1 day I have stopped the instance. Now i got my bill with the amount of 16 USD as I am on free tier. Can anyone help me out is there any option to request a wave off as I am new to the product. Any kind of response would be grateful.

Create a ticket selecting "Account and Billing" using these instructions and ask for it:

I cannot tell you if this will be accepted or not, but this is the process you should follow

The topics "Avoiding unexpected charges after the AWS Free Tier" and "Tracking your AWS Free Tier usage" should be required reading before launching your first instance.
