Error! "InvalidSignature"

0

Trying to use Scratchpad to get images for my Associates account and it's giving me "Error! "InvalidSignature" "The request has not been correctly signed. If you are using an AWS SDK, requests are signed for you automatically; otherwise, go to https://webservices.amazon.com/paapi5/documentation/sending-request.html#signing.""

Please advise. I have already created two credentials since this happened before with the last one. I have downloaded the csv file with the secret code and checked that I'm not missing text.

It is pretty common, you may locate and fix by the following:

  1. Incorrect Copying of Secret Key If you double-click to copy the secret key from the AWS console, it may truncate or omit characters, especially if the key contains special characters like /.

Fix: Always use the downloaded .csv file to copy your credentials. This ensures the full key is preserved. “If anyone comes across this issue, make sure that you don't just copy the secret key by double clicking… this WILL NOT COPY THE WHOLE STRING in some cases”

  1. Using AWS Credentials Instead of PAAPI Credentials The Product Advertising API requires credentials created specifically for PAAPI, not general AWS IAM credentials.

Fix: Make sure you registered for PAAPI using the same email as your Amazon Associates account, and that your credentials are enabled for PAAPI5.

  1. Time Sync Issues If your system clock is off by more than a few seconds, the signature timestamp may be invalid. Fix: Ensure your system time is synced with an NTP server.

  2. Incorrect Partner Tag or Region Make sure you're using the correct PartnerTag (your Store ID) and matching it with the correct region endpoint.

Hey,

I am using the CSV file and the PAAPI Credentials and still getting the issue.

My time sync on my Mac is set automatically.

I am using the only Partner tag I have.
