DynamoDB - CloudWatch cost metrics



I am looking for a way to get in CloudWatch any metric which giveme the information about the cost of my DynamoDB Tables. Or in the case, wich metric can helpme to identify the cost per each table.

Unfortunately DynamoDB does not emit any table level metrics for costs. This is something that you can of course implement but there are a few steps required:

  1. First of all tag each one of your tables with its own name, for that you can use the tool provided on our GitHub which will automatically tag all of your tables for you.
  2. Then you will have to activate those tags within cost explorer which you can see here. Please note it may take one or two days for the tag to start appearing in Cost Explorer

Once that process is complete, you will be able to break down the prices of each of your tables individually. Furthermore, you can set application specific tags to group costings per application to understand how each of your applications are incurring costs.

Cloudwatch metrics won't provide the cost of the Dynamo Db table. However you can apply tags to the Dynamo table and get the cost by using cost explorer. Please go through the below doc for more details:
