storage gateway - tape(s) could not be created

0

Hello,

I can no longer create tapes for one of my Storage Gateway(s). Initially, I tried to create my normal 10 tapes and received the error "Tape(s) could not be created". So just for fun I created just one, and that worked. I was able to create 4 tapes, before it showed the "Tape(s) could not be created" message again. This sounds like I hit a quota, but I cannot find out what that quota is. I have 482 tapes in this gateway. If I did hit a quota, do I just create another gateway and add to my Veeam instance? Thank you, José

Hi, yes, you may hit one of the quota limits for Storage Gateway: there are lots of them that may apply to your situation. See below. You can get them in the console of your account at https://us-west-2.console.aws.amazon.com/servicequotas/home/services/storagegateway/quotas

Some of them are adjustable, so you may ask for an increase if you reached current limit.

  • Is there a way to find out which quota I exceeded without having to involve support? Currently, we do not have support with AWS, tooooooooo expensive.
