0

Hello,

We are trying to upgrade our RDS Mysql version as part of AWS request.

I Launched a new RDS from A snapshot and try to upgrade the Mysql version.

**This is what I got in the error log: ** Database instance is in a state that cannot be upgraded: PreUpgrade checks failed: RDS detected Incompatibilities upgrading to MySQL 8.0.35. More details can be found in the PrePatchCompatibility.log file, accessible in the 'logs' section below.

Hello AWS Customer,

If you experience a preupgrade check failure during version upgrade, review the PrePatchCompatibility log file that Amazon RDS generates.

You can view the PrePatchCompatibility log file under Logs & events in the Amazon RDS console. Then, review the details of the listed incompatibility issue and correct the issue. In most cases, the log entry includes a link to the Amazon RDS for MySQL documentation on how to correct the incompatibility.

Please go through the below references for more details.

If you still not able to upgrade after reviewing and making the required changes as per the PrePatchCompatibility log file, please do reach out to AWS Support via a support case and we will assist you further.

I hope the above information was helpful to you.

Have a great day ahead !!
