Getting an error with code INTERNAL_ERROR_QUERY_ENGINE, there are no additional details in the error message. Has anyone run into this before?

Hi Sanchit, Are you seeing error message similar to the below -

[ErrorCode: INTERNAL_ERROR_QUERY_ENGINE] Amazon Athena experienced an internal error while executing this query. Please contact AWS support for further assistance. You will not be charged for this query. We apologize for the inconvenience.

In this scenario, have you tried re-running the query on Athena after a time-gap?

If re-running as well results in same error, there could be several reasons for the error such as service issue, data format issue, data size issue etc etc. I would advise you to log a support ticket with AWS on this front to look into it with the detailed error message.
