lost access to FSx share

0

Our FSx shares have been unaccessible for 26 minutes today (April 28 from 15:00 to 15:26 CET)

  • no warning
  • we tried access from VPN access and from Workspaces
  • no setting change/activity done at all done on our end that could affect
  • no notification from AWS of any scheduled maintenance
  • no "open issue" on AWS dashboard
  • none of the dashboard indicates any issue (in the FSx panel the fileshare showed as available,etc..)

The only hint of an issue was the blank on the lines of the CloudWatch monitoring graphics...

I suspect a network modification by AWS folks, but 26 minutes is a long time for a business to not been access the files in the middle of a workday.

That was the first time we noticed but this is worrisome. Anybody has a similar issue and suggestion on how to address this with AWS since support is not automatically an option with them?

Hello,

I understand any outages in the FSx service can be frustrating, and that is why AWS communicates events, both planned and unplanned to you as quickly as we can. Any planned events from the AWS team will be communicated beforehand on the AWS Health Dashboard’s scheduled changes section. AWS will also communicate any unplanned events on the Health dashboard, and if necessary a post event summary will also be provided.
