Emergent Snapshot Request: Databases found to still be awaiting snapshot.

I understand the DB instance shows as backup and from the RDS event, the message "Emergent Snapshot Request: Databases found to still be awaiting snapshot" is generated.

The Emergent Snapshot Request are automated system snapshots which will be initiated by the RDS in order to provide up-to-date snapshot data for point in time restore actions that might be requested. These snapshots will be requested by the automated health monitors we have in place when for example:

• An instance fail-over was initiated, upon completion of such a fail-over a new snapshot will be taken.
• A restore of a database was performed, which replaced an existing database.
• Recovery model of a database has changed

If native backup and restore is being performed on the DB Instance, it is expected that Emergent Snapshot will be initiated after the native backup and restore. If the DB Instance status still shows as backup, I would advise creating a support case to further investigate on the DB Instance .
