dc2.large Node Limit

0

I manage a Redshift cluster that has gradually grown to 42 nodes. I last resized it to 42 from 38 (I think) earlier this year. Today I tried to resize the cluster to 46 and the UI informed me that the maximum size is 32. I've searched around and I do see some clues in the documentation that dc2.large maximum cluster size is 32.

Is this new or did the resize tool not have this constraint integrated until recently? More importantly, the majority of the nodes are reserved so do I have any options for increasing the size of this cluster while continuing to use the pre-paid reserved nodes that have another two years on them?

Thank you.

The node range for a dc2.large is [1-32]. 32 is the maximum number of nodes you can resize to. Please see here for a complete list.

As far as billing of reserved nodes is concerned, please see Example 4 on this document.
