Conflicting/unclear documentation re: QuickSight Standard and Federated Users

0

This question is directed at the AWS QuickSight documentation team. I attempted to use the "Provide Feedback" link at the bottom of the documentation page, but it does not work.

Regarding federated users and the different editions of QuickSight, I've found what I believe is an error in the docs, or at a minimum is poorly explained.

On this page, it says:

Amazon QuickSight supports identity federation in both Standard and Enterprise editions. When you use federated users, you can manage users with your enterprise identity provider (IdP) and use AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) to authenticate users when they sign in to Amazon QuickSight.

However, on an earlier page, it states:

IAM Identity Center is supported in QuickSight Enterprise Edition subscriptions.

This implies that Standard is not included.

But later on the same page, it says that QuickSight supports:

IAM federation (Standard and Enterprise editions)

I also found that in the Standard edition's console management pages, there was no SSO menu option.

It seems to me that the documentation has conflicting information. I would appreciate some clarity on this, as well as fixes to the docs if necessary.

You may also need to investigate whether the "Provide Feedback" form is working. Thanks!
