Availability of AMIs on outpost

Can I confirm that all AMIs that are available to the region/AZ that the outpost is homed to are also available to Outpost?

Yes, the AMIs will be available to the Outposts, but today they are stored in the region and not locally on the Outposts.

Note that, since the introduction of S3 on Outposts and local snapshot in 2021, it is possible to copy AMIs on Outposts: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/snapshots-outposts.html
