Load Balancer -> Listeners: Unable to add or edit via web console

0

As of this morning I am unable to work with the Listeners attached to two different load balancers. If I navigate to EC2 -> Load Balancers -> $balancer -> Listeners and attempt to "Add Listener" or "View/Edit Rules" for an existing listener the page content changes to a blank white screen. There is still the AWS banner at the top but no visible feedback with an error etc.

I tried logging out and back in and had a co-worker try on a different computer and it all led to the same problem.

I was able to cobble together an AWS CLI command to successfully create a new listener and my load balancers are working correctly so the issues seems to be isolated to the web console. Any help would be appreciated.

I am seeing errors when adding a new rule as well via Terraform/AWS CLI, the web doesn't load up so no way to test. When I try to add a rule it fails with following error

An error occurred (ServiceUnavailable) when calling the CreateRule operation (reached max retries: 2): Internal failure

@JoeyBCH Are you able to create a rule via AWS CLI?

The Web Page is still not loading in Firefox (works on Chrome though), but the creation or rules is working, apparently I was using _ underscores in the hostname field and that was making it fail.

Hi dtchanpura,

Thanks for the hint, it seems to be a Firefox specific issue. I installed Chrome and it is loading the Listeners rules. I'm not sure if FF or AWS is at fault but hopefully someone gets it resolved. I'll use Chrome for AWS in the meantime.

To answer you question, I was able to use the CLI as I had no _ in my names. Sounds like we've found the solution to both our problems.

Thanks
