Alternatives for VPC Endpoint for OpenSearch created in Public domain

Question

If we have OpenSearch created in Public Domain, based on AWS documentation, an interface VPC endpoint cannot be created. Are there workarounds/alternatives. Others services allow the creation of VPC endpoint for public endpoint for making it more secure and not to traverse public internet.

Answer

Please allow me to inform you that, “You can only use interface VPC endpoints to connect to VPC domains. Public domains aren't supported.” This is as per Opensearch service design and there is no workaround/alternative present at the moment.
