Mouse stuck in bottom right corner when playing Star Citizen

0

Dear Community,

I am using a g4ad.2xlarge with Windows 2019 Base image to play Star Citizen since my own PC can't handle it.

My problem: When joining the game and standing up from the bed where you start your session, the mouse gets stuck in the bottom right corner. This also happens in some interfaces like the inventory. When trying to move the mouse the player just turns in circles looking at the ground since I think the mouse position is being updated between the center and then the bottom right corner.

What I exepcted to happen: The mouse should be following my movements as it is normally in the main menu or the pause menu for example

What I have tried:

  1. This problem seems to be know somewhat in the SC community but the fix of pushing SHIFT + TAB didn't work for me. All other shortcuts are being projected to the remote desktop session however, so I think this solution just doesn't work for me
  2. I also tried restarting the game and the AWS instance
  3. I have also tried to uninstall the P/2 mouse as well as tried to disable the remote desktop mouse from the device manager because I thought this may be interfering. However they get installed automatically as soon as I restart my instance, so I guess that's just not wanted from AWS side.
  4. There is no gamepad connected to the connecting PC which could cause problems

Looking forward to anything from your side, since the game is not playable like this and I am pretty sure this has something to do with the connection to the remote desktop, since I have tried to play it on my own PC and didn't have such problems.

Thank you!

  • What RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) client are you using? Here is an example list of clients: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/remote/remote-desktop-services/clients/remote-desktop-clients. Sounds like you are encountering the known bug in the game, but the fix of using SHIFT + TAB is not being sent from your RDP client to the game. I would explore your clients settings to find something related to key passthrough. Here is an example: https://www.parallels.com/blogs/ras/alt-tab-in-remote-desktop/

  • Thank you for your answer! All other keybindings work like they should, so I don't think that's the issue. Normally I am using the Remote Desktop Connection programm that is pre-installed on Windows, but I also tried it with the remote desktop app from the windows store now. I checked that all keybindings are being applied to the remote connection but still this doesn't work. To be honest, I am pretty sure it has something to do with some interfering input from a mouse or other that is installed on the instance. Someone knows why there are two mice installed and if this could be the problem?
