Is there a way to know who and how many api calls to CloudWatch?

0

We've been seeing on cost explorer that the type EU-CW:GDM-METRICS is increasing a lot on the last 3 months.

Is there a way to know from where this calls are arriving? We want to know if we can decrease this calls, but we need to know who is doing it.

Thanks

Hi,

That is exactly the purpose of AWS CloudTrail: track all details about calls to other services (who, when, etc.)

See https://aws.amazon.com/cloudtrail/

More specifically this doc will show you how to do it for CloudWatch: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonCloudWatch/latest/monitoring/logging_cw_api_calls.html

Best,

Didier
