Does a Double Opt-In (DOI) function exists for channel mail?

Like in the 2-Way SMS Opt-In process I need a double opt-in process working for channel email. Means, we send out notifications, the customers "subscribe" to a campaign and we need to re-send a verification mail with the shortly entered email adress. The recipent of the mail have a button just to verify, if he do nothing, the verification process fails and the campaign mail failed in this case. Or is this not possible with Pinpoint, I have to take a look to Lambda and custom mail generation process? Do anybody have good suggestions to realize this process with Pinpoint?

Hello,

I was taking a peek at your question and right now we don’t have any tutorials for setting this up so it would need to be custom engineered and designed.

We do have a tutorial based upon double opt-in for SMS: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/pinpoint/latest/developerguide/tutorials-two-way-sms.html

The next steps I would suggest: I’d study the architecture map provided in the SMS double-opt in, follow the tutorials steps, and any portion that relies on SMS, use email instead. There may be portions that will need to be figured out a bit but this will give you a good base to scaffold a solution from.

If there is any items during the implementation where have questions you can always reach out to our AWS Technical Support: https://aws.amazon.com/contact-us/

When you reach out to AWS technical support be sure to fill out fully any information requested when submitting including project ids, and logs, and architecture maps (including ARNs of the resources involved) to ensure they’ll be able to assist as quick as possible.
