EMR Studio workspace issue

Hi, creating workspaces in EMR Studio and I get this error, Open failed Workspace(notebook) is stopped. Service Role does not have the required permissions. I dont see anywhere under workspace or application creation pages that we need to attach a service Role. thanks

Hi,

The service role will be attached when creating the EMR Studio with the name "AmazonEMRStudio_RuntimeRole_XXX". You can go ahead and edit your Studio and Make sure your role has sufficient permission by going to IAM and checking the attached policies. If the service role does not have the required permissions, you'll need to attach the necessary policies or permissions to the role.
