Hi, StepFunctions have by default a quota a 10'000 registered activities at any given moment. See https://docs.aws.amazon.com/step-functions/latest/dg/limits-overview.html
As per https://docs.aws.amazon.com/step-functions/latest/dg/amazon-states-language-task-state.html
All work in your state machine is done by tasks. A task performs work
by using an activity or an AWS Lambda function, or by passing parameters
to the API actions of other services.
Parallel in itself may have lower limits that I don't know of.
In my experience, we try to avoid Parallel with too many branch. We rather go with Step Functions launching other Step Functions in some Parallel like yours
See https://docs.aws.amazon.com/step-functions/latest/dg/sample-start-workflow.html
Step-in-Step reduces the complexity of workflow management in edge conditions.
