Can QuickSight connect to MySQL hosted on-premise without having DX or, VPN connectivity ?

IHAC who has created a MySQL locally on-premise with public IP and want to integrate it with QuickSight. Getting error as "Amazon QuickSight can't connect to your data source. Verify the data source connection settings and try again"
