Migrating Avid Nexis Database to AWS

0

Hello!

Almost 2 years removed from using Avid infrastructure to store and archive all our content. We are now looking to move the entire library of media off our Nexis storage to AWS Cold storage. This is content we likely won't be looking back at for some time.

Does AWS DMS handle moving large amounts of media off of Avid storage (and into S3)? If it does, can it transcode the media to a different media format like Pro-Res, instead of keeping it as native DNx OP-Atom Avid media?

Any info on this subject will be super helpful!

Thank you!!

Documentation of source databases supported by AWS DMS.
It appears from this that Avid Nexis is not supported.

As an alternative, would it be difficult to migrate to S3 using AWS Storage Gateway?
I am not familiar with Avid Nexis, but I believe it is possible to migrate data to S3 if AWS Storage Gateway is available.

It may be possible to migrate data to S3 using other methods such as AWS Snowball, please check the following documents.
