AppSync -> Amplify Migration Question

I just received an email that AWS Appsync for iOS has a year left in Maintenance.

I'm curious if the AppSync API itself is also going into maintenance, or if this can be kept? I'm midway through a complete re-development of my Appsync API and Cognito configuration, it would be a bummer if I had to re-do it all using Amplify.
